SUMMER RIDES

Summer has been teasing us but the kids aren't ones for waiting.........they gotta ride!

ROCKIN' THE MOHAWK

HAPPY BIG 3!

"I'd trade my brother for a cupcake"Lilliana Marie recently enjoyed a three day long birthday celebration with many friends and family. Here's how it played out:

*DAY 1 started off by getting all decked out in her birthday crown, birthday pin, new shirt, and jazzy necklaces. Mommy made birthday cupcakes and off to daycare she went to celebrate with all of her friends. Then it was home for presents and more cupcakes with Grandma and Papa! As you can tell by the chocolate on Lilly's face, the cupcakes were thoroughly enjoyable!
*DAY 2 Daddy, Mama, Grandma, Lilly, and Bubba Rafe were off to RENO where we proceeded to do some intense shopping and topped the night off with the one and only Chucky Cheeze (where a mommy can be a kid).

*DAY 3 was the final day of birthday fun, and believe me it was FULL of AWESOMENESS!! It started off with a little more shopping. Next stop was the indoor pool at our hotel. We were joined by Uncle Jimmy, Auntie Amanda, and cousins Austin and Dayton. Come to find out Lilliana is a swimaholic! The kids just about whooped Grandma's butt. As you can see, Bubba Rafe didn't make it very long before he crashed out poolside!

After we very firmly dragged the children (and Grandma) out of the pool we enjoyed a nice all you can eat seafood buffet...oh yes, we had to be rolled out of the restaurant. Then, it was off to the Grand Sierra for some BOWLING! And unfortunately, I sit here and admit to all that I was beat by my 3 year-old! (laugh it up) The night finally wrapped up about 10pm when our sleepy heads nestled snug into our pillows! END BIRTHDAY!

FRIENDSHIP

"Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down."

I have recently come into a new friendship and felt as if I needed to speak about it. As you all probably know, friends don't come easy to me. Being the youngest of five children I never really had to make friends. My siblings were my friends and their friends became my friends as well. Never did I imagine that as I got older my siblings and I would separate and live so far away. Although, I do have my mother here and she is my ultimate BEST FRIEND, understanding and loving in a way nobody ever could be. Anyways, this brought me to a very lonely state in my life. But as I tried to make friends, thinking it would be a simple task...I mean I can be a nice person when I want to be (HA HA HA)....I soon realized there was much difficulty. I had reached a rock, a pretty hard rock and realized that I have NO CLUE how to get myself out there and meet new people. How does someone go a whole life and not learn how to befriend someone? Well, don't ask me how I did it but if anything can't be done.....I CAN DO IT!

Well, on with my story.....I was beginning to let go of the dream of finding a girly friend companion when I started to search for my spiritual self again. And SMACK.....there you go! GOD handed me friends and I just out of nowhere began to learn how to be a friend. So, here I am...sitting in pure grin. I am still learning how to get myself out there but I will not stop until I have befriended the whole damn world if I have too....because come to find out, having friends is AWESOME!!

The moral of my story is, I'm happy because now not only am I growing within myself and learning new things in life but I am also able to share that with people other than my loving little family. And although it might seem silly or childish, friendship now means HEAVEN to me!

"We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can fly only by embracing each other."

HAPPY FOUR MONTHS!

RAFE ANTHONY THOMPSON
4 MONTHS
Weight ~ 12 whole pounds
Height ~ 25 inches long
Head ~ HUGE.......16 3/8 inches (smart kid, like his mom)

The doctor said our midget child is in the 4th percentile....whatever that means. Healthy as he can be and growing like a weed, well his head is anyway. He has started eating cereal, just to get the hang of it (that's a work in progress). So, even though he's a miniature, he's doing JUST FINE!
