Our New Addition

As you all know, our new addition arrived on Christmas Eve......December 24th at 12:59AM. He was 6lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 in long. This is how it all happened.......

Wednesday, December 23rd we went to the doctor for a regular check up. I was not having any pains or anything. At that point I was a little over 4cm dilated and still not feeling any pains. So, we made a future appointment and left the doctor. Still no pains through the whole day. Lilly kissed me goodnight around 9pm and I started having a little pain, just thought he was pushing down on me. (boy was he) By 10pm the pains were stronger and I notified my parents but I didn't want to go into the hospital just yet in fear they would send me home. By 10:30pm my husband decided that we should go in, just in case. We waited for my parents to get to the house and then headed to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital around 11:45ish and they checked us in. By the time they checked me at 12am I was 9cm and the baby was wanting to come out. We had to wait 20 minutes for my doctor to get there and right as he was walking in I started pushing. It was the most excruciating pain I have ever felt (I had an epidural with Lilly). Thank GOD for my husband. He held my leg and was as calm as ever.....coaching me along. At that point his voice was all I could hear. He never left my side the entire time from start to finish.

Ray is a natural at the whole "father" thing. He makes sure I get enough rest and helped me get the whole breast feeding thing down. His calmness and confidence keeps me at ease! He loves his little boy! So protective of his baby, making sure he is fed, changed, warm and comfortable....mommy and baby are WELL taken care of. It's amazing how incredible he is with all this. He has attempted to go back to work today but is ready to get home, probably going to take the rest of the week off........I knew he wouldn't make it. Not enough time with his bubba!

Lilly is SO in love with her baby brother! I put some pictures of the two of them on the right hand side of the blog. She just loves to hold him and kiss him!

Thank you all for the loving thoughts during this time! Our little family of four is PERFECT!!!

Santa came to our house

Christmas was AMAZING this year! Lilly had such a good time opening presents. She left Santa milk and cookies with a little letter written personally by her. And boy did he bring a lot of presents to our house. She got a new kitchen set from Grandma and Papa that she absolutely LOVES! We got her an easel to draw on, and she's getting good at drawing now. She wears her princess tutu ALL THE TIME!! So many toys and so little time! All in all she had a blast and I think she really understood the concept of Santa.

Thank you to all who sent cards and gifts, it was such a great Christmas this year!

Winter Wonderland!

This weekend we had a beautiful snow storm........not so beautiful to Ray as he was shoveling ALL DAY Sunday! It was a pretty eventful weekend:

Friday we bought a new 2010 Toyota Corolla Sport for the kids and all the traveling we do back and forth to Reno. It is a really nice car but I haven't driven it yet, I don't feel comfortable driving it in the snow. Thank God for my awesome truck!

Saturday we went to the Parade of Lights in Elko. Grandma and Papa went with us too........they are so much fun to have around. We were happy to see the snow because it warmed it up from -20 to about 34. Lilly loved it, she even got to see Santa Clause, which she was excited about. Then one of the floats was giving away stuffed animals at the end and Ray Ray got his Lilly Bear a little Christmas Bear! She was SO HAPPY!!!

Sunday we finished decorating our Christmas tree and now we are stuck trying to keep Lilly out of the presents! HA! All in all the weekend was a success!

A few fun ones...

Here are just a few fun pictures I thought I would put up here for you all to see! Thought you would like this first one sister.....sorry for the chew (full of class, you know). These cuties are just smilin' away. The next one is more for Grandma Nutter and Auntie Susie! It is the dress I wore to Ray's Christmas party....and it was a.....well, a day trying to find it! HA HA HA!

Mommy n' Lilly's BAKING PALOOZA

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Lilly and I decided to bake some goodies. We had a blast! It was as if a flour tornado came blasting through my nice clean kitchen. I am pretty sure more flour got on my belly than in the bowl. We almost ran out of chocolate chips.......most of those fell into Lilly's mouth! Our goodies came out YUMMY YUMMY but I think when we bake Christmas goodies we will go wreck Grandma's kitchen!

Papa's 20th Birthday

As most of you know, this weekend we celebrated my Dad's 20th birthday! It turned out to be a great time. We tried to get a bunch of people together to do a video of inspirational sayings of a happy birthday. We didn't get as many as we thought we would but when it was put together it was amazing. We took more videos at the party so now we can put them all together for a great memorandum of his BIG 20th! The party was a great turnout with a little over 50 people. I know by the look on his face that Papa had such a blessed time with all his family and friends! Thanks for helping us celebrate this special time!

Playing Suzie Homemaker

This summer I was blessed with a wonderful gift from Grandma Thompson. A BEAUTIFUL SEWING MACHINE!!

Now, growing up being "one of the guys" I have never been the "suzie homemaker" type but I thought I would put some use to this thing. So, with my mother's help and some great ideas I decided to start off making the kids something. That way if they suck, the kids can't tell.......and I will make them wear it anyways. (the joys of being a parent) I spent a couple weeks and went for broke. I ended up making Lilly a pair of jammies and a matching bathrobe. Then I made her baby matching jammies too! I am on a roll, let me tell you. This "suzie homemaker" stuff comes naturally to me. I am now making Rafe some bag jammies! Hopefully, with some practice and guidance one day I can make quilts somewhat like my my Auntie Susie! (big maybe on that one, she pretty much rocks the quilting thing) So, in this "oh-so wonderful" nesting period.....THANK YOU GRANDMA THOMPSON for giving me a hobby!

Belly Update

I am now 32 weeks along and growing every moment! I now see the doctor every two weeks and things are going quite smoothly.....from what they tell me. These next couple months will be spent getting the small things together and growing uncontrollably, I am sure. Can't wait until he gets here......we are ALL getting VERY VERY EXCITED!!!!!

DANCING QUEEN

Lilly is a dancing queen at it's best! She climbed up on the coffee table and gave everyone a musical show! PRICELESS!

FALL FUN

The weather was so nice this weekend that we got all dressed up, went to the canyon and took some gorgeous pictures with the changing leaves. I have put a few on the side bar of our blog and will add a few here as well. I will get the best ones and copy them for Christmas!

Lilly with her Grandma and Papa!

Baby Shower

It came....and it went, like a flash! October 17th we had our co-ed baby shower at my parents house and it turned out to be such a blast. To start off with, my sister made some gorgeous invitations. Then my mom and my sister put their heads together to plan some pretty yummy grub and silly baby games. The cake turned out so cute, the bakery put little race cars on it that matched his bedding. Then we had checker flags all over and checker decorations to top it all off. It was a cute baby race day! We ended up getting such great gifts, now I can start putting things together, YEAH! Unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it but there was a great turn out. So many friends and family joined together to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of our handsome baby boy! Now only three more months until he arrives, THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS!!!!

Outside Play

Mama and Lilly.....comparing the babies in their bellies! (I think I am winning)

Here are a few pictures of all of us playing outside this weekend! Lilly loves to ride her new bike and hang out in her new camping chair, that has room for her baby brother!
