The Thompson Crew's first reported camping trip took place this sunshiny weekend. Friday afternoon we headed out to Wilson Reservoir for a couple nights. Upon arrival the wind was ripping a roaring through our campsite but Daddy quickly got the tent up and a fire blazing. By 8 o'clock it was beautiful.....and we headed to bed. :) Saturday was a gorgeous day with some clouds and a lot of sun, which rapidly spread to our skin and burned everyone but Baby Rafe. Guess the sunscreen only works when you put it on.....good thing Rafe was on top of that! Lilliana got some fishing in, turns out fish don't like marshmellows so she didn't catch anything, although she almost stepped on a giant snake while racing Daddy to the truck. Which brings us to "the episode". Lilliana discovered a large tick (ticks aren't really large but they seem so in Mommy's eyes) on the back of her head. Needless to say Mommy freaked out and Lilly was upset cause she wanted to go play soccer. After calling everyone in the world and looking up ticks on the blackberry Daddy finally ripped that sucker off. Mommy had soon reached her DONE point and was grossed out the rest of the trip. All in all it was a good trip....good bbq, good smores, good fire, and good fun! Can't wait to do some camping again!
There was one weekend the sun made a slight appearance here in Spring Creek, NV. The moment it peaked it's pretty little sun beams we rushed outside and somehow talked Daddy into walking to the park with us. (Daddy doesn't like to walk very often) So, the Thompson Crew packed up a lunch and headed over to play. We played a little soccer and got to run around the playground......all in all I think the swings were the biggest hit.
"I'd trade my brother for a cupcake"Lilliana Marie recently enjoyed a three day long birthday celebration with many friends and family. Here's how it played out:
*DAY 1 started off by getting all decked out in her birthday crown, birthday pin, new shirt, and jazzy necklaces. Mommy made birthday cupcakes and off to daycare she went to celebrate with all of her friends. Then it was home for presents and more cupcakes with Grandma and Papa! As you can tell by the chocolate on Lilly's face, the cupcakes were thoroughly enjoyable! *DAY 2 Daddy, Mama, Grandma, Lilly, and Bubba Rafe were off to RENO where we proceeded to do some intense shopping and topped the night off with the one and only Chucky Cheeze (where a mommy can be a kid).
*DAY 3 was the final day of birthday fun, and believe me it was FULL of AWESOMENESS!! It started off with a little more shopping. Next stop was the indoor pool at our hotel. We were joined by Uncle Jimmy, Auntie Amanda, and cousins Austin and Dayton. Come to find out Lilliana is a swimaholic! The kids just about whooped Grandma's butt. As you can see, Bubba Rafe didn't make it very long before he crashed out poolside! After we very firmly dragged the children (and Grandma) out of the pool we enjoyed a nice all you can eat seafood buffet...oh yes, we had to be rolled out of the restaurant. Then, it was off to the Grand Sierra for some BOWLING! And unfortunately, I sit here and admit to all that I was beat by my 3 year-old! (laugh it up) The night finally wrapped up about 10pm when our sleepy heads nestled snug into our pillows! END BIRTHDAY!
